This painting is the result of an exercise assigned by one of Sol Tanne’s teachers: Paint a still life using shades of one color.Sol Tanne was about to take the painting to his studio to use it as a canvas to be painted over. Janice Hopkins Tanne liked it and persuaded Sol to keep it. The painting is in Janice’s apartment in New York.
